Why Tasmania Continues to Capture Travellers’ Hearts

The island's combination of wild landscapes, fascinating history, remarkable wildlife and welcoming communities creates a travel experience that feels both deeply Australian and entirely unique.

Our Tasmania tour has been carefully designed to showcase the best of this extraordinary island, from rugged coastlines and ancient forests to historic settlements and world-class food and wine.

The journey begins in Hobart, Tasmania's charming waterfront capital. With three nights to explore, there is time to experience the city, visit the acclaimed MONA Museum and take in the spectacular views from Mt Wellington, where the city, harbour and surrounding landscapes stretch out below.

From there, travellers journey into the heart of Tasmania's wilderness. A highlight for many is cruising the tranquil Gordon River, where reflections shimmer on dark waters and ancient rainforest lines the riverbanks. Nearby, Lake St Clair and Mount Field National Park showcase some of Tasmania's most pristine natural environments.

The island's dramatic west and north-west coasts offer another side of Tasmania. Cradle Mountain remains one of Australia's most iconic natural landmarks, while Cape Grim and Woolnorth reveal vast coastal landscapes shaped by powerful Southern Ocean winds.

History is woven throughout the journey. At Port Arthur, travellers gain insight into one of Australia's most significant convict settlements, while Woolmers Estate provides a glimpse into Tasmania's colonial past and heritage gardens.

In the north, Launceston offers a relaxed pace, with highlights including Cataract Gorge and a scenic Tamar River cruise.

The tour concludes with one of Tasmania's most celebrated regions, Freycinet National Park. Here, pink granite mountains meet white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters. A luncheon cruise on Wineglass Bay provides the perfect opportunity to appreciate the beauty of this remarkable coastline from the water.

Along the way, guests will also visit the Devils@Cradle conservation sanctuary, learning about efforts to protect Tasmania's most famous native animal.

Combining wilderness, wildlife, history and coastal beauty, this journey showcases why Tasmania remains one of Australia's most rewarding travel destinations.

The size and composition of the tour party from tour leaders Annie, tour guides, and the travellers was very good. All about the same age and compatibility amongst the tour party was excellent.
