Our tour begins in Hobart, Australia's second-oldest capital city, where history and contemporary culture sit comfortably together. Enjoy time exploring Salamanca Place, take in sweeping views from the summit of kunanyi / Mount Wellington, and discover the internationally acclaimed Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), one of Australia's most talked-about cultural attractions.
Tasmania's rich history comes to life with a visit to the Port Arthur Historic Site, where a guided walk reveals the stories of one of Australia's most significant convict settlements. Along the spectacular Tasman Peninsula, natural landmarks including Tasman Arch, Devil's Kitchen and Eaglehawk Neck showcase the powerful forces that have shaped this rugged coastline over thousands of years.
Travelling into Tasmania's wilderness, we visit the remarkable Wall in the Wilderness before continuing through Mount Field National Park and Lake St Clair to Strahan. A highlight is cruising the tranquil Gordon River, where reflections dance across dark waters surrounded by ancient rainforest, offering one of Tasmania's most peaceful and memorable experiences.
In the island's north-west, the scenery changes again as we explore the alpine landscapes of Cradle Mountain, the windswept coastline of Cape Grim and the rich farming country around Woolnorth and Smithton. A visit to the Devils at Cradle conservation sanctuary provides an opportunity to learn about the important work being undertaken to protect Tasmania's iconic devil.
The journey concludes in northern Tasmania with time in Launceston, a cruise on the Tamar River and a visit to the spectacular Cataract Gorge. At Freycinet National Park, a luncheon cruise reveals the white sands and turquoise waters of Wineglass Bay, one of Australia's most recognisable coastal landscapes.
