The adventure is underway, and our China travellers have wasted no time immersing themselves in the sights, sounds and flavours of this remarkable country.
The group is journeying through more than 5,000 years of history, exploring some of China's most iconic destinations, including Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai and the spectacular Yangtze River. Along the way they'll experience ancient cities, magnificent temples, fascinating traditions and some of the most breathtaking scenery in Asia.
The tour began in Shanghai, a city where ancient culture and modern innovation sit comfortably side by side. Towering skyscrapers rise above historic neighbourhoods, offering a glimpse into both China's rich past and its extraordinary future.
One of the first highlights for the group has been the food. China is renowned for its regional cuisines, and our travellers have already been enjoying a wonderful introduction to the country's culinary delights.
"Beautiful restaurants and delicious Chinese food. So many unique and tasty dishes at lunch and dinner, plus excellent service," reported tour leader Lee Kelly.
For many travellers, sharing meals is one of the great joys of touring, and the warm hospitality, vibrant flavours and variety of dishes have already made a lasting impression.
As the journey unfolds, the group will cruise the mighty Yangtze River, visit the legendary Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an, explore Beijing's imperial treasures and discover the stories, traditions and cultures that have shaped one of the world's oldest civilisations.
For now, spirits are high, appetites are well satisfied, and the excitement is building for the incredible experiences still to come.
