Grand tour of Europe’s most impressive & historic cities.

As the title indicates, this is the “Grand” tour of Europe and should appeal to both first-time travellers to Europe as well as those who want to return and spend a bit more time in some of Europe’s most impressive and historic cities. The leisurely pace of the tour is a feature as almost all city stays are for 3 nights.

A comprehensive programme of sightseeing has been included balanced by free time to allow for independent exploration. Starting our journey in Rome, we travel north to classical Florence and Venice before crossing into Austria and on to Vienna from where the Hapsburg monarchy dominated Europe for centuries. Prague has long been regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe while Berlin is busy, bold and cosmopolitan. For something different, we travel by train to Amsterdam, the city of canals, and then on to romantic Paris, the City of Lights, where we conclude our European journey.

Highlights

  • Rome – St Peters, Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel, Coliseum, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain and so much more
  • Florence – Duomo Cathedral, Bell Tower and Baptistery, Academy of Fine Arts & Michelangelo’s “David”

Thursday 13 May - Home - Dubai

Late this afternoon, we report to the airport and join the flight to Dubai.

Friday 14 May - Dubai

We arrive in Dubai early this morning and after clearing Customs and Immigration formalities, we are met and transferred to our hotel for an overnight stay. There is time to rest up after the flight until mid-afternoon when we visit the Museum of the Future. One of Dubai’s most famous landmarks, the museum takes pride of place along the city’s superhighway, Sheikh Zayed Road. Founded by the Dubai Future Foundation and launched on 22 February 2022, the museum explores how society could evolve in the coming decades using science and technology. Termed a ‘living museum’, it incorporates elements of traditional exhibitions, immersive theatre and themed attractions, so visitors can look beyond the present and towards the future’s limitless possibilities. Visitors have the chance to engage with this game-changing technology. Each floor of the museum is designed like an expansive, interactive movie set, brought to life by expert storytellers, technologists and visionary artists. There is time for exploration before we return to the hotel for dinner this evening.
